Seven polycyclic arom. hydrocarbons were detd. by high performance lig. chromatog. with fluorescence detection in hexane and CH2Cl2 exts. of particulate matter-contg. rainwater samples. Two stage extn. and addn. of NaCl to the rainwater samples were recommended to increase the recovery of the hydrocarbons from the samples.
