Comparison of modern extraction method for isolation of flavonoids from chamomile flowers (Matricaria chamomilla L.)
Flavonoids were recovered from shredded chamomile flowers (0,28-1,6 mm) by extn. with EtOH and assisted by (i) microwaves (240 W, 1 min; then 360 W, 30 mM) as well as (ii) ultrasounds (33 kHz, 320 W, 30 min). The exts. were analyzed quant. and qual. by using high performance liq. chromatog. coupled with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. Method (i) was more effective than method (ii).
