Evaluation of applicability of a Bacillus megaterium-containing ash and blood-based fertilizer in the light of selected morphological and physiological attributes of spring wheat
A granulated P biofertilizer made of sewage sludge ash and dried animal blood was activated with Bacillus megaterium and compared in field expts. on spring wheat to a similar prepn. without bacteria and to superphosphate. Three levels of P2O5 were used (40, 60 and 80 kg/ha). Plant d. after sprouting, ears density, general and productive tillering, stem length, the no. of plant leaves, leaf dimensions, ear length, mass of grain from ear, photosynthesis and transpiration intensity were detd. Fertilizers from ash and blood equalled the corn. one in terms of their influence on the morphol attributes of spring wheat. The intensities of gas exchange in plants supplied with fertilizers from waste materials and superphosphate were mostly comparable.
