Respiration activity of a mixt. contg. 20 mL of active sludge from biol. sewage treatment plant and creosote oil (up to 0.3 mg) was detd. by using an O probe. The creosote oil concn. 1.45 mg/L (328 toxicity units) resulted in a 50% inhibition of the respiratory activity of the activated sludge.
