Hydraulic hose assemblies count among the safety-related components. Considerations relating to these components must be based on requirements as specified in the applying standards. In this context, impulse testing in accordance with DIN EN ISO 6803 is particularly suited to assess the components＇ safety performance. The article describes test methods for impulse testing with and without flexing; it also presents in detail the corresponding test results. The latter are discussed, and hints in terms of quality improvement are given in conclusion.
