Environmental-stress cracking in DSD recyclates
When separating mixed plastics waste on the basis of density, the polyelfin fraction cannot be separated further because of minimal density differences between HDPE, LDPE and PP. Since PP and PE are incompatible, PP should act as a foreign body and can create internal stresses in products produced from such a mixture. The current investigations are intended to validate this assumption.
