Silver Ion-Selective Porous Lithium Titanium Phosphate Glass-Ceramics Cation-Exchanger and Its Application to Bacteriostatic Materials
Porous glass-ceramics with skeletons of LiTi2(PO4)3 (LTP) or Li1.4Ti1.6Al0.4(PO4)3 (LATP) showed excellent cation exchange properties with Na+ and Ag+ ions at room temperature. Ag+ ions were selectively exchanged over Na+ in solutions containing both ions. The exchange rate of porous LATP was larger by approximately 50 % than that of porous LTP. Conspicuous bacterial activities were found for the partially Ag-exchanged specimens.
