KINETICS OF THE DIMERIZATION OF ETHYLENE IN ETHYL CHLORIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE CATALYTIC-SYSTEM TI(OR)4-ALR3＇
A study has been made of the influence of temperature, the ethylene pressure, the concentration of Ti(OC4H9)4, the Al(C2H5)3/Ti(OC4H9)4 molar ratio and the nature of the hydrocarbon radicals R and R＇ in Ti(OR)4 and AlR3＇ on the kinetics and selectivity of ethylene dimerization. It has been established that dimerization is quasi-steady-state in nature, and selectivity with respect to but-1-ene is up to 98%.
