Paraffin treatments: Hot oil/hot water vs. crystal modifiers
Crystal-modifier chemicals have been used successfully in many areas to control paraffin-wax deposition in production strings, pipelines, and refinery/storage facilities. However, these chemicals require protection from told weather to prevent freezing, which would make them impossible to pump. Therefore, the practices of hot oiling and hot watering remain the dominant paraffin-wax remediation treatments. Advances in crystal-modifier formulation have succeeded in producing modifiers that are suitable for year-round application.
