탄산칼슘 수용액에서 소듐폴리아크릴레이트의 분산효능
Efficacy of Sodium Polyacrylate in Dispersing Calcium Carbonate in Aqueous Solution

음이온 계면활성제인 소듐폴리아크릴레이트로 0.6 μm의 탄산칼슘 입자에 표면처리를 하였을 때 탄산칼슘 분산에 매우 효과적이었으며 30 wt% 탄산칼슘 현탁액에서 소듐폴리아크릴레이트의 최적 처리량은 0.60 wt%이었다. 이 조건에서 다른 처리농도의 경우에 비하여 0.52 μm의 평균입경, 4 cps의 점도, -24.9 mV의 제타포텐셜로서 분산안정성을 양호하게 유지시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 특히 탄산칼슘 현탁액에 소듐폴리아크릴레이트로 처리후 pH를 9 ~ 11의 범위로 조절하여도 입도의 변화는 0.9 ~ 1.0 μm로서 양호하게 나타났다.
Anionic surfactant sodium polyacrylate was found to be highly effective in dispersing calcium carbonate particles, an average particle diameter of 0.6 μm, in aqueous solution. The maximum effective amount of sodium polyacrylate at was 0.6 wt% at 30 wt% of calcium carbonate suspension in water. At this condition, the particle diameter was an average of 0.52 μm, viscosity was 4 cps and zeta potential energy was -24.9 mV, and it was good enough to maintain stable dispersion. When calsium carbonate surface was treated with sodium polyacrylate and adjusted pH to 9 ~ 11, the effective dispersion increased to include even for the average particle diameters of 0.9 ~ 1.0 μm.
