HEAT-GENERATION FROM REGROWING RAW-MATERIALS - THE PROJECT BIOENERGY-KAISERSESCH
In the summer of 1992, the Ministers for Agriculture of the EU decided basically on a reform of the joint agricultural policy. In this context, it was agred that at least 15 per cent of the total area of arable land are to be excluded from the food production. These areas are either to be brought to a standstill or can be used for the production of regrowing raw materials. Against this background, the Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry (BML) invited tenders for taking part in a ''Model test on Heat/Electricity Generation for Regrowing Raw Materials'', in whose framework six pilot projects are to be sponsored all over the Federal Republic of Germany. The RWE Energie AG (RWE Energy Joint-Stock Company) has with the project suggestion ''Bioenergie Kaisersesch'' a successful part in this invitation of tenders for participation. On the basis of a feasibility study (1) under the auspices of the Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry (BML) detailed layout planning is now to be carried out. Responsible for the technical, administrative and operational-cost effective carrying out the sponsorship is the ''Specialized Agency Regrowing Raw Materials'' in Guelzow.
