The use of low-calorific Salzwedel natural gas in a heavy-duty gas turbine
For using gas turbines in heavy-duty mode for the generation of electricity, in general, natural gas has been used up to now. The more expensive fuel oil was usually intended as back-up fuel. Exemplified on an existing combined plant with gas and steam turbines, the peculiarities of the gas turbine plants operated with a cheaper low-calorific gas are discussed in this article.
