An optimum process is characterized by an optimized circuit (structure) with optimized parameters. Within the optimization, determining the optimum structure is the most difficult step. Thermodynamics provides the method on how to the influence the Carnot factor of the process under review, as well as irreversible occurrences in the system with the objective of improving the efficiency.
