Poly(ethyl acrylate-co-acrylic acid)계 이오노머의 물 흡수와 열적 성질
Water Absorption and Thermal Properties of Poly(ethyl acrylate-co-acrylic acid) Based Ionomers

아크릴산 함량이 다른 poly(ethyl acrylate-co-acrylic acid) (PEAA)를 합성하고, 아크릴산기를 중화하여 이온기 함량을 달리하는 이오노머를 제조한 후, 25 ℃ 상대습도 60% 조건에서 평형에 이르게 한 시료들의 수분 흡수 및 열적 성질을 조사하였다. 중화도 증가에 따라 PEAA계 이오노머의 단위 질량당 수분 흡수량은 증가하였으나, 아크릴산 단위체당 수분 흡수량은 중화도가 동일할 때 아크릴산 함량에 관계없이 유사한 경향을 보였다. 또한 중화도 증가에 따라 수분의 증발열은 증가하여 결합력이 증가하는 것으로 나타났고, 흡수된 물들이 흡착형태에서 용해된 형태로 변화하는 것으로 판단되었다.
Water absorption and thermal properties of ionomers based on poly(ethyl acrylate-co-acrylic acid) (PEAA) of various acrylic acid (AA) contents at 25 ℃ and 60% relative humidity were studied. The amount of water absorbed by unit mass of ionomers based on PEAA increased with increasing the degree of neutralization of AA units of PEAA. It was found that the amount of water absorbed by AA units of same degree of neutralizations were almost constant irrespective of the contents of AA units of the ionomers. We observed that the heat of evaporation of water increased with increasing the degree of neutralization of AA units of PEAA. It is speculated that the water absorbed by the ionomers changes from adsorbed state to dissolved state with increasing the degree of neutralization of AA units in the ionomers.
