Fluorescent Polyurethane Foams Containing Red Fluorescent Perylene Chromophore
E-mail:
Reactive red fluorescent dyes based on perylene tetracarboxylic diimide were prepared by reaction of 1,6,7,12-tetraphenoxy-3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxy anhydride with various alkyl amines and their application to the coloration of polyurethane foams was performed. Fluorescent polyurethane foams were prepared by the reaction of dye0dispersed polyol resin with 4,4'-methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate) in the presence of a blowing agent. The degree of fluorescence of the resulting polyurethane foam is dependent upon the chemical structure of the dye molecule and also it is a function of the solubility of the dye within the monomeric polyol solution.
