The Gyrfalcon subsea development project in Green Canyon Block 20 uses a 15,000-psi subsea system. Because this project was undertaken by a small independent operator, project management was allocated to three key contractors. Total Offshore Production Systems (TOPS) provided the subsea hardware, installation, project management, and engineering; Applied Drilling Technology Inc. (ADTI) provided engineering and project management for the completion; and Shell Offshore Inc. managed all host-platform process modifications. Excluding start-up problems, the subsea equipment has performed well.
