New Electrochemical Reactor for Waste-Water Treatment - Mathematical-Model
This paper evaluates the performance of a new electrochemical reactor by comparing the results of an experimental investigation in a pilot plant and theoretical values obtained from various mathematical models. Fluid-dynamic characterisation was carried out by means of a lime-dependent input technique in order to evaluate the effects of interference level between feed zone and reaction zone. The effects of agitation level on fluid-dynamic parameters were investigated over the following ranges of variables. amplitude 0.1-1.8 cm; frequency 60-120 rpm. Mathematical models for simulating the electrochemical reactor in steady-state conditions are presented. Characteristic parameters were determined by fitting of experimental profiles and compared with the results of fluid-dynamic and electrochemical studies carried out by the same authors.
