Mass transfer solid-liquid in granular fixed bed - A boundary-layer approach
Mass transfer from irregularly shaped particles to fluid (or vice versa) in fixed bed is analysed on the basis of an oversimplified boundary layer approach. Due to the complexity of the effluent surfaces the flow conditions are successfully described with the help of effective and empirical parameters. The agreement between model predictions end experimental data, know from the literature, seems acceptable.
