Cotton threads bearing adsorbed branched polyethylenimine-organo-phosphorous hydrolase (BPEI/OPH) multilayers are woven into cotton cloth (CC) that actively hydrolyzes methyl parathion (MPT) in solution to p-nitro-phenol (PNP) over several weeks. These results form the basis for smart fabrics capable of remediation of environmental toxins.
