A brief summary of the main results on inert packing equipment used for the drying of suspensions and paste-like materials is presented, as is the relevant literature. The laboratory scale, experimental rotary fluidised bed drier is described and results of experiments on the drying of two different suspensions and two paste-like model materials in the inert packing fluidised bed are presented in the paper.
