Investigations into the melt crystallization of caprolactam in suspension by means of a special developed an MSMPR crystallizer are presented. The effect of the process operating conditions and the concentration of water in caprolactam on the kinetics of the crystallization and on the median size of crystals was determined. The obtained results are presented in the form of relationships which can be used in the design of crystallizers for the melt crystallization of caprolactam and for the choice of operating conditions for a larger scale process.
