제목 | Anaerobic microbial decolorization of an azo dye wastewater |
초록 | Reactive dyes have been identified as problematic compounds in textil wastewaters because they are soluble and can't be easily removed by conventional biological wastewater treatment systems. The treatment of azo dye wastewater has been commonly carried out by using physico-chemical methods. However, microbial decolorization and degradation of dyes as a cost-effective method in a wastewater treatment. Anaerobic biological treatment of a dye wastewater is required to degrade xenobiotic organics before the aerobic stage, Since microorganisms do not consume the xenobiotics in an aerobic condition. We investigated the effect of temperature on decolorization of Reactive Black 5. Decolorization was done at various temperatures; 10℃, 20℃, 30℃ and 35℃, respectively. Decolorization efficiency increased with the increase of temperature. Sulfide, produced in anaerobic condition by sulfate reducing bacteria, made the decolorization efficiency increase. |
