제목 Developing enviromentally friendly elastomer foams and the process for replacing polyurethane
초록 PU is currently used as a material for car seats. However, it is very difficult to achieve a comfortable level of car seats and to improve its comfortability by using only PU foams. PU foams are suffers from less durability and low deformation period. The present investigation has main aim to develop elastomer foams which has excellent sense of comfort and will be replacing the existing PU foams technology. In this regards, the foam hardness is adjusted by using the content of the SB(Styrene-butadiene) latex and the fillers of silica and Talc. The elastomer foaming process was optimized by considering the content of blowing agent, time and temperature. The synthesized elastomer foam has porous morphology consisting of vertically aligned walls. Such morphology facilates excellent durability, comfort by air cell and pinhole acting as a buffer to the supporting structure. The hardness, durability and aging effect of the synthesized elastomer foam were investigated by using IRHD machine, DMA and Xenon lamp.
