Electrochemical removal of nickel from NiSO4 solution with bulk carbon cathodes
Ni ions were removed from aq. soln. of NiSO4(1 g Ni2+/L) in a cell with 6 cathodes made of a coke chunks 3-5 mm in size. Ni powder was pptd. even at threshold current d. A modification of perforated walls of cathodes allowed to reduce Ni powder spill from bulk cathodes. To decrease the Ni concn. to below 0.5 mg/L, use of 2 cells was necessary
