Coextrusion and subsequent thermoforming of plastic panels coated with PMMA are an interesting alternative to the painting of plastic parts. For more complex parts in-mould decoration of coextruded sheets offers itself as a possibility. Mechanical, thermal and optical properties were tested and evaluated in comparison to painted parts.
