TEMPLATE POLYMERIZATION OF ZINC-DIACRYLATE ON POLYVINYL ACETATE
Template polymerization of zinc diacrylate performed over template atactic polyvinyl acetate at 90-degrees-C in dimethyl formamide follows a mechanism (II) which occurs by complex formation between template and zinc acrylate oligomers formed in solution. The values of composite interaction coefficients, K(AB) determined in dioxane, dimethyl formamide and dimethylsulphoxide are 0.09, 0.12 and 0.16, respectively. This is indicative of complex formation through weak Van der waals interaction, thereby, leading to the expansion of polymer coil. It is presumed that the decrease in termination rate constant, k(AB) influenced by the template, at-PVAC also depends on both the concentration and molecular weight of the template.
